Cigar Art and Artists
While surfing around the ‘net recently I’ve ran into some really talented BOTL. I’ve always wanted to be able to paint, draw, sculpt… but I still struggle with drawing a straight line. Oh well, that just makes me appreciate the work of a talented artist even more.
These guys have taken their passion for cigars and created some really excellent artwork focusing on their love of the leaf. Paintings, drawings and photos that we’d all be proud to hang in our smoking lounges or even on the living room wall. Some of them share their art on blogs, forums or other websites but I thought it would be fun to put some information together telling a bit more about the artists and their art.

Over the next few weeks I’ll introduce you to the following Cigar Artists:
- Troy Taormina Photographer
- Bryan Glynn Photographer
- Mike Gates Painter
- Jeff Goins Pen and ink artist and painter
Each of these gentlemen took the time to share with me some information on their passion for cigars and how they began creating cigar art. I’ll also pass along some contact information for each of them in case anyone would like to purchase one of their existing works or perhaps commission them for a special piece.
Troy, Bryan, Mike and Jeff were all nice enough to pass on a lot of great information, so I’ll share that over a couple of articles to make sure each of them gets the proper coverage. Don’t forget to check back soon for the first installment.

Fantastic to see other people doing art about this wonderful pastime we enjoy. This ink wash is has so much character. Thick and thin lines, very light to black gradated washes. It has class. I am also an artist and am trying to contribute to the greater good by doing art about the traditions and lifestyle of the cigars culture. My website is artcigar.com.
